Belgium Waffle recipe

Ingredients

  • 200g plain flour

  • ½ tbsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 1 large egg, separated (room temperature)

  • 225ml whole milk

  • 60ml vegetable oil

  • 1 ½ tbsp sugar


Method


  1. In a large bowl, mix together the plain flour, baking powder, and salt, set aside.

  2. Then in a medium bowl or jug, whisk together the egg yolks, milk, and oil. Pour this mixture over the dr

    ingredients and whisk until well combined.

  3. Using a hand mixer or whisk, whisk the egg white on until soft peaks form.

  4. then gradually add the sugar, one tea spoon at a time, while continuing to whisk until stiff peaks form.

  5. Fold the beaten egg whites into the batter one half at a time, being careful not to deflate the mixture.

  6. Place a serving spoon amount of batter into a preheated and greased waffle iron. Cook for about 3 minutes on high heat, or until golden brown and crispy.
