Irresistible Shortbread Matchsticks: A Perfect Treat

Chocolate Shortbread Matchsticks Biscuit Recipe

Ingredients

• 115g unsalted butter, softened

• 55g caster sugar

• 150g plain flour

• 100g milk chocolate, chopped

• Sprinkles for decoration

Method

1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C fan) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and caster sugar until light and fluffy.

3. Gradually add the plain flour to the mixture, mixing well to form a smooth dough.

4. Roll the dough out to about 1 cm and cut into sticks and place them on the prepared baking tray. Make sure to leave space between each shortbread.

5. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow them to cool completely on a wire rack.

6. In a heatproof bowl, melt the milk chocolate in short bursts in the microwave.

7. Dip one end of each cooled shortbread into the melted chocolate, ensuring an even coating.

8. Place the chocolate-dipped shortbreads on parchment paper and then sprinkle your favourite toppings on the chocolate.

9. Allow the chocolate to set completely before serving.

10. Enjoy😊
